MAERSK, Copenhagen (Denmark)
Simone Frattasi is a European Patent Attorney and a Telecom
Engineer with a CEIPI Diploma in IP Business Administration and a PhD in Wireless, Mobile Communications. He is currently serving as the Head of Global IP at MAERSK, which, under his leadership, won the Gold Award for 'Best IP Department Nordics' by Leaders League from 2022 to 2025. Prior to this role, he was the Head of the Patent Department at Sony Mobile Communications in Sweden. Moreover, he is the main author of the book: 'Patent Portfolio Management: A Practical Guide in the Age of Artificial Intelligence' (Edward Elgar Publishing, 2023 and 2025). He was recognized in IAM Strategy 300 ('24-'25), Managing IP’s Top Twelve Europe’s In-House IP Leaders
('23-'24), and Managing IP’s Corporate IP Star ('22-'25).

You may download and print the related presentation documents. Each module is concluded with an onlinetest or practical exercise. Once you have completed all the modules and passed all the tests, you will be awarded a certificate.

Principles
The e-learning programme 'Patent Portfolio Generation and Management' comprises didactic modules that include videos in which the expert Simone Frattasi shares his expertise with you. You can also download and print the corresponding presentation documents.
Each module comprises additional documents as well as interactive exercises and questions, which help you practise and apply your newly gained knowledge.
Once you have completed the modules and passed a final multiple-choice test,
you will be awarded a certificate, which you can print out directly. The e-learning programme should be completed within three months. Try our e-learning programme for free and familiarise yourself with our learning environment.

2. You will receive an email with your login data for our learning platform.
3. Log in to start your e-learning programme.
4. Complete your e-learning modules at your own pace.
5. Finalise the modules with a multiple-choice test.
6. Once you have successfully completed the test, you will be awarded a certificate, which you can print out.
