Former Head of the Consultancy 'Inventor's Law and Remuneration' and Mobility Division IP Counsel at Siemens AG
European and German Patent Attorney Peter Karge has been working since 1988 in intellectual property law. In various positions within Siemens AG, in particular for more than 17 years as head of the IP department responsible for the Transportation Technology ('Mobility Division') and as head of the consultancy 'Inventor’s Law & Remuneration' that has worldwide responsibility for all fundamental questions of inventor law and inventor’s remuneration, he has gained extensive and comprehensive experience on employee invention law. In addition, he is a lecturer in intellectual property law and patent law at various domestic and foreign educational institutions for many years.
Jens Kunzmann

Jens Kunzmann is partner in the law firm C·B·H Cornelius Bartenbach Haesemann & Partner. He studied law in Germany and England. During his whole career in private practice and as in-house counsel, he has been working almost exclusively in the field of intellectual property, with a particular focus on licensing, R&D cooperation and employee inventions. Jens Kunzmann lectures at the Universities in Cologne and Münster and is the author of numerous publications on different IP topics.

This online course shall provide a sound overview about different local laws in important countries in EU and beyond with respect to employee invention rights. It shall enable the participants to address complex situations when designing and negotiating agreements for cross-border R&D.
A variety of separate national laws provides local solutions to questions regarding the allocation of rights resulting from employee inventions, their transfer to the employer and the relevant remuneration claims of the inventors. These problems need to be resolved in R&D agreements between cooperation partners in cross-border scenarios, within a multinational group of companies, and in situations of employee delegation or dislocation of R&D activities.
